Preschool Curriculum

Laying a concrete foundation

The primary mission of Fulbright College is to provide an exemplary early childhood program, which is comprehensive in presenting curriculum in the areas of English Language, Mathematics, Science and Technology, History and Social Science, Health Education, and Education in the Arts, etc. The classrooms are designed with different learning centers for children to explore and learn at their own pace. These learning centers include a science area, an art area, a writing center, sensory tables, a quiet library, and a busy block and dramatic play area.

Quality care means providing a safe, warm, nurturing environment as well as encouraging growth and development by offering a stimulating, enriched curriculum. The teachers constantly assess the children’s needs and observe their progress. The curriculum is adapted to meet the needs of all of the children. One of the goals of the program is to foster social and emotional growth. Children learn to share with others, take turns, respect and show concern for classmates. Other goals include developing fine motor, gross motor, and self reliance, listening, and speaking skills. The children learn through discovery and materials are introduced with a hands-on approach.

The curriculum is presented as a theme and is evident throughout the classroom. The themes would change weekly or monthly depending on the children’s interest level. Activities are planned and teachers interact with the children guiding them through exploratory play and discovery.

Elementary School Curriculum

Elementary School Curriculum That Meets Your Child’s Academic Needs.

The Elementary School at Fulbright College includes grades 1 through 5. Our elementary school curriculum focuses on the four core subject areas: Language Arts, Math, Science, and History.  Students will develop strong reading comprehension skills, write original composition pieces, develop critical thinking skills, learn fundamental math concepts, read classic literature, explore a variety of science topics, and learn about the world around them.

At Fulbright College, we understand that today’s students learn differently than students many years ago.  That’s why we continually review our programs to include the most up-to-date teaching approaches that appeal to young learners.  All Elementary School programs also include integrated technology lessons that coincide with subjects and lessons. Your child won’t learn technology skills in isolation, but will develop an understanding and appreciation on how to apply these skills to their everyday work.

Our engaging Elementary School curriculum will encourage your student to explore, discover, and excel, while learning fundamental concepts that lead to academic success for years to come.

International Primary Curriculum

For the 2016-2017 academic year, Fulbright College is excited to begin the process of transitioning to the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), one of the fastest growing internationally-focused curricula designed to support student skills development and to prepare them as learners in the 21st Century.  For the first semester of this year, elementary teachers are working with the Director and Curriculum Coordinator to plan for the transition to this program, which will include training and determining the themes and units to be piloted later this year and to be fully implemented in 2017-2018.
In 2017-2018, Fulbright College Elementary School will transition completely to the IPC, meaning that Social Studies and Science will be replaced entirely, and teachers will begin to use the Assessment for Learning program within the IPC to assess learning outcomes in Social Studies and Science, as well as other areas, such as Information Technology, Design Technology, Music, Physical Education, Art, and Society.  While the IPC also has Language Arts and Mathematics learning outcomes, it is not designed to replace a school’s literacy and numeracy program, so Fulbright College will maintain its existing Language Arts and Mathematics programs while working to make connections between these areas and the IPC units and assessments in order to offer a well-designed integrated elementary school program.
